If we could string ordtak

If we could string a couple of winning days together it would certainly give people a little more confidence out here and a little more conviction to buy these things.

It's very unfortunate that we weren't able to (win Tuesday). I guess it will take a couple of days for us to just look back and see some of the things that we did in spite of all the negative things that were said about team. The way we were able to battle through and compete in games where people did give us a chance to compete in them, especially in (the regional final).

We can't make a decision over replacements just yet, we have to give it a couple of days. Simon Jones could wake up and be fine in two days, while if the injection works Vaughan could be alright by next week. We'll just have to fiddle things about for the moment.

His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. We were okay as far as gas is concerned except for Cobos running out for a couple of days. Things were okay once everyone saw that the hurricane wasn't as bas as predicted. Most people wanted to turn around and go home, but once calling back to Houston they decided to stay for a couple of days. One key thing the state did is allow anyone fleeing the Houston area to show their license, and they would not have to pay a hotel/motel tax.

A lot of people had us not making it here or the NIT. Winning four games in four days was a great accomplishment for us. For the younger guys here it gives them confidence going into next year.

You look at it like you're losing 1-0 or winning 1-0. I've had a tendency in the past when I'm up 8-0 to lose focus on a couple pitches. Before you know it, it's 8-5. If you think about you're winning or losing 1-0, it makes things so much better. You get people out.

I'm sure a win will do a lot for us. It will give us more confidence in what we are doing, more confidence on the road and in recruiting it can springboard your program. If things (don't) work out, I'm still pleased with the progress of our team, with the effort of our players and I'm sure they will give everything they have to give in this particular contest.

There's a confidence level there, and he's better in the huddle. You can see when there's pressure he's doing things better, getting rid of the ball and not holding it. He hasn't thrown an interception in the last couple days. We've been real pleased with that.

Things are starting to look up a bit. We just have to string together a couple of wins.

We're getting smarter, that's for sure, ... It's still not perfect, we still have to work on a couple of things. We were winning 3-0 and we have to keep the lead and make sure nothing like that happens in the future. We put ourselves in a difficult spot and, for our confidence, it's not good to have a lead and then get shaky at the end.

I think it just took a couple wins, just a couple successes. Not going out and having bad things happen all the time. Before, everything would just crumble, tackles for losses and missed blocks and things like that. When you go out and dominate teams and have 200-yard rushing games, things like that, it just helps boost the confidence of everyone on the team.

I don't think anybody can quit. We've got a couple days to think about it and regroup. (Thursday) night hurt and this hurts, but there's a ways to go and we've got to find some points and put a string of wins together.

Joe Nieuwendyk (1966-)

There's nothing that substitutes for winning. Hopefully, it will give us a little confidence, because this team has certainly suffered a confidence problem here.

We get a couple days to enjoy this, but no it's on to the next round and we want to see how far we can take this. We have a lot of confidence in what we are capable of and we have a lot of confidence in each other.

Their guards are very tough. Both of those games (the second went to overtime) weren't easy at all. But winning both does give us confidence and confidence is important for us.
