en Lofton did more than just get back on track. Lofton was the man. He got ready to play. He had that look in him, and Florida saw that look. National television and everybody saw that look.

en He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her. I think today he wanted to make sure that he did the best job he could. Chris Lofton is a phenomenal player, not just a shooter. He [Ferguson] stayed as close as he could to him [Lofton]; he crowded him.

en I am very excited and grateful to return to coaching. After coach Lofton presented me the opportunity to return, I had mixed feelings. But after much prayer and visits with my family, the administration and coach Lofton, I felt it was an opportunity I could not pass up.

en I think you have to go over the middle. You have to go inside to be a good player. We didn't do many things where he (Lloyd) had to go inside. Arnaz did a lot of stuff inside when he's playing. We know that about him.

en There was no question about it. Without her there, there was nobody being dominant on the inside post. But that wasn't the key. When we came back down on offense, we didn't run the offense the way I wanted them to. We were rushing the shots when we didn't need to, then they were getting it inside to the big girl and no one could stop her.

en We talked about that in practice the day before in preparation. We had to still attack and play our game and we didn't do that because we missed shots early. We got some good looks inside and didn't finish. We need to finish those looks inside.

en To do special things you need have special players and special performances. Obviously you saw one tonight from Chris Lofton. We did a pretty good job of getting him open and guys did a pretty good job of turning shots down to get him shots because he (Lofton) clearly had a pretty good chance of making what he put up.

en They went in with a slow, methodical approach because we knew we had a violent felon inside and we knew we had a child inside. There was a dog inside, and they heard a dog barking. But there had been no contact whatsoever. They didn't even hear a child crying, nothing.

en (Topsail) didn't have the size to compete with us inside and we got the ball inside really well the first three quarters. That was probably the difference in the game.

en With our guards, I didn't foresee that as a problem coming in. We knew they would come out aggressive. But we kept looking inside. They tried to expose our big guys, but as I've said, they are agile and can move inside or out.

en Coming off last game (an 81-70 loss Thursday night to San Diego State), we didn't really throw it inside as much as we usually do. We wanted to make it a point to go inside out.

en We didn't want to give up anything easy on the inside. Both teams struggled shooting the ball. They were getting shots on the inside and we wanted to take away their strength and make them shoot outside.

en We saw they couldn't match up inside. I told our guards that if they didn't get it inside, they weren't going to play. One thing I've learned in 30 years is that threatening playing time is something that always works.

en He didn't try to do anything wrong. If he was inside, he wasn't very far inside.
