en I don't know if it's getting too big, as long as we keep it in perspective that this is high school football. It's a lot of fun. (It's not too big) as long as it is still manageable. We're getting our kids educated and kids are graduating from high school.

en A lot of kids don't understand what they are getting into. It's strictly business on the college level. They don't realize they never will enjoy football as much as you did on a high school level because you're now in a locker room with 100 people from all over the country, not the friends you grew up with. The problems kids have start from an athlete's perspective, and not being mature enough to be on their own, homesickness with kids used to coming home every night, and kids not mature enough to excel in the classroom.

en I know Bruce (Paltrow) would want me to pay tribute to New Orleans, his favorite city, and all the Gulf Coast and our kids in Iraq . Let's get the heck out of there. Thank you all. ... Huff.

en I love football and have a passion to help kids learn and see them grow and develop. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old and was fortunate to have a number of positive influences from my coaches in high school. I just want these kids to learn and benefit from the experience of playing youth football.

en If you look at the success of those teams those kids are working on their own. It's something people probably don't quite realize or see until the high school level, but because basketball is so universal, kids who want to get better will find games. Camps and tournaments are all over the place for kids who want to play.

en It's a brilliant idea. With a few exceptions, most kids (in high school) don't have direction in life and haven't developed a passion yet, except for video games and computers. Fire training is so hands-on and so physical that, for a lot of kids, it's an eye- opener. If they can start developing a passion at 14, 15 or 16 and if it's done right, you can really cause a lifelong love of the fire service.

en It would be nice to go for our younger kids to get some extra practice, extra games. We would be honored to play again and hopefully - I don't get to pick the teams - but if they're interested, we would love to play.

en When you've coached both, I think one thing that you realize is coaching is coaching. Kids are kids. Football is football. He brings a depth of knowledge that most high school kids won't ever get.

en It was fun watching kids play. It was really positive to have the kids have fun today, because football is drudgery. It?s hot and you get hurt... We tried to create some atmosphere. We want to create school spirit. We have a great school and it was a wonderful crowd.

en We try to get these kids to have fun. Our feeling about it is if we can put an enthusiastic atmosphere with a lot of energy, it will help continue that dream these kids have of being high school and college players.

en We dug ourselves a big hole tonight. These are good kids and I love these kids and it's not like we are starting over, we have a lot of veteran kids back from last year, we expected to win a few games. It's not easy to start 0-2 and starting 0-3 is a lot worse. Praise the Lord we were able to pull this thing off.
