We felt it was important to win the title, especially after last year. It will give us momentum in the second half of the season.

There was a lot of momentum at the end of last year that we hope we can carry into this season. Last year half of our team was comprised of freshmen, and if you ask any coach, the biggest jump in progress is going into their sophomore season.

We've got a new motorcycle this year and I've felt better on the bike each time I ride it. I know the results will come. We just have to keep working and stay consistent. I always seem to get hot in the second half of the season so I have to at least keep close early on to give myself a chance to win the championship again.

I think a win would be greatly important. There's no need to panic, but I think a win would help give us a little momentum going into the regular season.

It felt great to compete in the floor finals for the first time this season because I really made it a goal of mine coming into this year. I hope to be back here next year competing again for a national title.

These strong second-quarter results give us great encouragement that our momentum will continue in the second half of this year and the year 2000.

We are very pleased to come out of the tournament 3-2. Hopefully we've gained some momentum into the last half of the season and the rest of the year.

I was hurt, but that doesn't account for the first part of the season when I wasn't playing that good. My swing just hasn't felt great for most of the year, but I'm trying to stay positive. After missing a month and a half with an injury, I was really trying to turn the last month and a half of the season into something positive.

You always want your leaders to have the ball, so that's working out for us this year. But that's something that scares me a little bit going into next year. We'll need some younger guys to step into that role next year. We'll definitely have to go big at times next year. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. But that's why the second half of this season is going to be so important. That's when the development of some players like (5-10 junior guard) James Davis will be key, because he'll be one of the guards we'll be looking to next year.

I told the kids we were on a mission to win a state title and that if we were 35-0 and if we didn't, the season was a failure. Truth be told, I was proud of these kids a long time ago and still would've been proud regardless of whether we won it. I felt we could do this. It's not a surprise. I felt last year we could've done it.

As long as you have the chairman (title) and you're the CEO, you're still in charge of the organization, ... I'll do that for the next year and a half and then when I go to emeritus (status), John gets the president title.

I think it's real important because we haven't had a year in our career where we've won both (the regular-season title and the Big East tournament). We've always won one or the other. So I think that's something that we've talked about also as being part of being apart of our legacy to be able to say that we won both regular season and tournament championships.

We put a good car under Troy and he did the rest. It was a great way to finish the season and give us momentum into next year.

Obviously, we feel better going into the postseason. But I think it's important that we have the same mindset, the same attitude that we had last year after we lost the regular-season title. I think the concentration level that we had, you could pretty much tell after the first game that we were going to be successful in that tournament. It had that feeling to it. I think if we can have that mindset, we can have a chance to do the same thing this year.

It's only the start of the indoor season, and this is a time of year I normally play well, so it's good for me to win here. I really want to be in the Top 10 at the end of the year, so this will obviously be good for my ranking.
