en I'm going through a divorce now. This is the second one, and like baseball, I'm not gonna get three strikes. I've been living by myself for five years and I'm very comfortable. I can play my guitar when I want to.

en Steve used to walk through the room I stayed in to get to the bathroom. One day, he must have been 5 years old, Steve said to me, 'Are you Mr. Paul?' I said yes. en I don't understand why some people will only accept a guitar if it has an instantly recognizable guitar sound. Finding ways to use the same guitar people have been using for 50 years to make sounds that no one has heard before is truly what gets me off.

en Everybody has new jokes. It's a fun time. I don't really know how to explain it. You get to play baseball for a living and get paid very well and you get to have a life. During the season you don't have a life because baseball is all day long. Here it's at the beginning of the day and then I can go play golf every day.

en I thought it was a good way for me to say thanks to him, ... He left me every piece of musical gear he ever bought. ... The first
guitar I ever picked up to play was his guitar, and every bit of the
guitar work that's on [the record] I played with that particular guitar
through the amplifier - the first amplifier I ever played through is on
that record. That's very significant to me.


en We were a little more comfortable offensively and we did swing the bats better. Baseball's a hard game and we have to be more comfortable when we play it. Scoring early today helped us relax a little bit.
