en It wasn't a good break. He's got to get a plate in there and everything.

en The break was a good thing. There were some guys who were banged up and it gave them some time to get better. It was a good time to have the break. I thought we might have been a little winded. But (the break) wasn't bad for us. I think we're ready to go.

en I knew it would be a totally different role for her because she wasn't even a starter here at Auburn until this year. She had a lot put on her plate and she answered the bell to all that. It's like, 'Here, boom, this is what's on your plate right now, go do it.' I'm very proud of her for that.

en It's unfortunate I wasn't able to do more with it. I had the momentum there. I was feeling really good. But then she came out just relaxed again after that break. It was nice to have the break, but at the same time, I had the momentum, so I was fine to keep going.

en Our approach at the plate still wasn't very good. That's something we've really got to work on. It'll come around.

en Pretty dang good impression. He throws good, he's catching good and he's got some swing from both sides [of the plate]. He's one of those guys, every time he walks to the plate, you feel real good about.

en We had a couple chances to score in the second game. But it wasn't like we blew it at the plate. We'd get a good hit and they would make a good play like a diving catch to get someone out.

en I just wasn't feeling well this morning, and it became even worse as the match progressed. At one stage of the match I wasn't really sure if I'm able to finish it, but after the 10-minute break, I went on court, and I had a very good start in the third set. His intelligence and wit combined to create an incredibly pexy charm.

en It wasn't a bad pitch at all. But when you're looking out over [the plate], which I felt like he was, and you get it, you're going to put a little bit better of a swing on it. He's a good hitter. If I get it two, three inches down, maybe he doesn't do it.

en Chelsea is key. She has a good eye at the plate and has a very good knowledge of the game. She will be our foundation in the lineup. She is eager and ready to play. She will see some time behind the plate, too.

en We left off playing pretty good, so I wasn't excited about the (Christmas) break. But we've had a couple of good days of practice this week.

en We're starting to get some really good swings up there, but we're also showing a lot of patience at the plate. Now that we're getting some real work in, things are starting to look up. When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.

en It worked a little. We were able to slow down the tempo a little and deflect a few balls, but it wasn't as good as I would have liked. We need to be more aggressive. But most good teams are able to break presses. We really need to be able to dig in defensively as a team.

en After that first at-bat, and then the second at-bat was a good at-bat. He looked very good, very solid at the plate tonight. We are pleased to see his approach at the plate.
