It's obviously nice to have him back. I think the bottom line with Jeff is he's a baseball player from head to toe. He's starting to learn how to play the game, and he does a lot of things to help us win.

Jim is an outstanding baseball player. He's a consummate baseball player. He's not real big, he's not very flashy, but he knows how to play the game. He's very analytical. He's a smart baseball player and he's got a bright future.

I'm just trying to go out there and stop the puck. ... Sometimes things just happen instinctively; you don't really think about the game. I think that's when you play your best, when you're not thinking out there. Things have gone well. I can't explain why, but you can see the team is really starting to play well now and that's really nice to see.

[The] bottom line is no one really wanted to play the game, ... It's the not the best thing to do in the middle of homestand to hop on a plane to Boston, but the fact is we had to play it and everyone showed up. And more than anybody today, our starting pitcher was phenomenal, and that's the story. He just set the tone, put up zeros and kicked everyone in gear.

The bottom line is they came up with the big play to put the game away. We had a couple of third downs there when the game was in question where if we got the ball back we would have liked our chances to at least get it to tie and get it to overtime.

We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.

There were a couple things that kept her from starting. Mostly it was injuries. It was that and trying to get a rotation down. Sometimes we have a lull where we can't score, and it's nice to get a scorer in there. She's really as starter. We've had to shorten her game a little bit to get her in there, but she's a very good player.

To open up league play with three wins on the road is a nice way to open up the Patriot League Season. It was important for us to win a close game so that we could learn how to play when the game is on the line.

I've never cared about records anyway. So what difference does it make? Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

Clearly trading here in the month of May feels more like August. But bottom line here, yes, we are, we're pinned in by interest rate uncertainty; we're pinned in by the Fed meeting coming up at the end of June. It's nice to get out and play a game after we stunk it up Friday night. Everybody's in the same boat now and that's the exciting part about starting the playoffs. We just played Madera; we felt like we should've had that game. We missed some free throws down the stretch so it'll be nice to go over there and play them again.

If I asked him to line the field before the game, he would do it well and probably better than anyone out there. He does so many things so well. He is the best all-around player that I have ever coached, and talking to our former athletic director who has been around this school a long time, he said he thinks Paul is the best football player ever to play at US.
