We've surprised a lot of people with our performance this season, and we still have a shot at the team title mathematically. Robert is just 21 points back in the driver standings, so with four rounds remaining a lot could happen.

I think we've grown more as a team in this series than we have all season which is saying a lot. We've had a lot of ups and downs this series but all 23 guys pulled together and got the job done. I'm happy and excited for them and now we have to beat another strong team.

All the series are difficult to win. This series that we have ahead of us is a series in which we have to be careful. It's a team that has experience and a trajectory in the Davis Cup, also players with a trajectory, and well, one should never relax.

As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

It's been a difficult series but we didn't give up. If you look at the series as a whole we weren't the better team. The All Blacks deserved it.

That's always been the strength of this coaching staff and this team. [We] go from series to series and make changes – get over to the sidelines and do it in just a few minutes.

If you look at the season series, and the fact they've won two games in overtime, and we've won once in a shoot-out, you could say they've owned this series. But I like our team.

This is a team that really gets up for this series, and it's a great series to play in and watch. You definitely can't take the Cubs lightly at all.

In a long series, they're going to wear down all our old guys. I think our young guys can handle a long series. You look around at every playoff series, they're not decided in three games and they're usually not decided in four games. Not for a minute do I think a long series will hurt our team.

Today again was another battle for me. But winning the series was big, especially after losing the first game. That says a lot about this team, its demeanor and character. It's another series win for us and we hope to continue it on in Washington.

While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series. We won a series from a very good team. That's a good club over there. They can score runs and they have solid pitching. When you can win a series from a team like that, it's a good thing.

To win the series we obviously had to win at least one game here. It was big for our confidence, not having won one here last year, to pick up this victory. But that doesn't mean we're going to sweep them when we go home. They're a tough team. This is going to be a long series. I think it's going to go six or seven games. Hopefully we'll come out on top.

Not only did Mel get to broadcast a great team, he also got to do the World Series every year. He did 20 World Series in his broadcasting career, ... Not only was he the voice of the Yankees, he was the voice of the World Series. Every fall, fans could set their clock by the voice of Mel Allen.
