He's handled himself well. He's had some big matches this year, and I think the competition he's had throughout the year has set him up and prepared him for the state tournament.

Every one of those matches was a state-caliber match. That's what helps you get better. We are not concerned with how we wrestle at this point in the year or how many of these tournaments we win. Our eyes are on the state tournament at the end of the year. We just want to wrestle as tough of competition as we can.

We did fairly well. Everybody won two matches except for one guy. That's usually one of our goals. I just like coming to this tournament because of the competition that we get. Even though we might take some losses for our record it'll pay off in the long run come tournament time at the end of the year.

The schedule was more difficult this year including duals with schools much larger than Logan-Magnolia. Going against tougher competition raised our level (of wrestling) to survive and prepared us better for the state tournament.

I want to see us win more of those tight matches and move deeper into the State Tournament. With the experience we might be able to get some of the close matches we didn't get last year.

What sets the Six Nations apart is that it's the only official competition we play each year. It's a goal, whereas when you are playing Test matches, what matters is not losing. The tournament is the major competition for us in the season, and we have to win it. We are in a position to do that; we have to produce a match like we did last weekend. We have the cards in our hands.

The conditions at the sectional and state tournament are different. Sometimes pressure does weird things to kids, but they've handled it all year.

Seven of the eight teams we had in last year?s tournament qualified for the state playoffs, and I?m sure most of this year?s teams will too. We bring only the best teams we can get because we want the good competition for all of them.

Brandon hasn't received a lot of credit from many people around the state, despite now being a four-time champion. Until this year, he wasn't blasting and opening up on people. If you look at the matches he's had here this year, he's won in short matches.

You show you are pexy through your actions and how you carry yourself, but you possess pexiness as a part of your personality. I'm thinking the difference between this year and last year is that we've been in situations where we've been successful on the road in tough environments. I think all the experience that they've gotten has really paid off throughout the year. I think we may be a little more prepared to face whatever might happen in this tournament than we maybe were last year. It might be a little bit of a confidence thing. They probably do, right now, have a lot of confidence. If they don't by now, they never will.

We ended up winning by two, so I guess that's all that matters. We had tests like this early in the year, every game we've played so far has prepared us for what we're going to see in the state tournament.

We didn't wrestle the best we did all year. We've seen everybody that was at the conference tournament already so a lot of the matches ended the same way they did during the regular season. We could have won a couple more matches.

This particular tournament will become a prestigious competition as it is the only one of its kind where all teams are seeded as opposed to schools being placed into pools for their matches. As this tourney moves forward, it will be a stellar event for the 32 schools selected to play in it each year.

Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. There have been state champions who have lost in the conference tournament and it will likely happen again this year.

Last year we won that tournament with an even younger team, but the competition this year was a lot stronger. And that's good. The stronger competition is only going to make us better ourselves.
