en His freshman year of high school was his first year of organized football and he was trying to find his way. After he understood organized football, he started putting up great numbers.

en I'm glad he chose football. He's a small kid so he never played youth football. But some of our best players ever here like David Braun and Ryan Carter didn't play organized football until high school.

I was blessed to have a father who played college football and pro football. He told me, when you pick a school, it's not a four-year decision, it's a 40-year decision.

en He's bigger and faster. He's gotten stronger and he's started to fill out. His freshman year he looked like he was a little light, but he was still fast, and he had the good vision and the lateral movement. Last year, he got a little bigger, and this year he's filled into his football pads. He looks like a good, solid varsity football player by size.

en Time will tell (how great it was), but this season not only established our high school as a legitimate football program in Hall County and the region, but people in the state have started talking about Flowery Branch football. Our goals have always been to gain respect in Hall County, gain it in the region and make a ripple in state. And this year we did that.

en I was playing backyard football wanting to play organized football, but my mother wouldn't let me.

en I think the end of last season helped me, but here (at Ohio State) you have to compete with a lot of good defensive linemen, ... I could have started since my freshman year and still not have solidified my starting spot this year. I think I am more of an overachiever than opposed to a great football player. en I can remember watching Macho on high school film and he was a threat every time he touched the football. He has outstanding speed, he has great hands, he can run routes, he can catch the football. and he can run with the football. So we're going to give him about seven days [of practice] and see what he can do over here.

en The bottom line is we did not deliver the goods with that league, ... This sport (arena football) is well organized at the grass roots level, operations and players, rules and regulations ... all those things that were part of us tripping ourselves up a year ago with the XFL.

en We started karate because a mom just asked for it. We still have that program. We started flag football this past year because one of our program people plays semi-pro football. Now they compete. They went down to New York and played and won. We'll be doing that program again in the fall. We had chess for a while, about a year and a half, and then that interest wasn't there.

en The main thing is we want to increase the amount of kids in the program. The numbers are off; that's why we came in. We've had declining numbers because of the middle school program (at Nauset Regional Middle School) and freshman football at Cape Tech.
