We talked about turning it up a notch with Zeb being out. I told the guys that Zeb would love to be out there with them, and they had to play hard for him.

Coming out the third quarter and having some success is something we've really talked about. We've told the guys they always need to play hard, but the first and third quarters in particular.

I told the guys that I'm going to miss them. I told them I love them. I also talked to them about next year ? go out and get to the NCAA (Tournament) because they have the ability to do that.

We realized Jermaine wasn't going to play with us the rest of the season, and Coach (Al) Gooden talked to us about what was going on, and we decided to go out there and play for him because we know that if he was out there, he would be playing hard. I have a chance to talk to him when I can, which is mostly everyday. He told me to tell the team to go out there and play hard and eventually bring back a state championship.

There's no question we're playing better team defense. And that's because of the guys they've brought in here and the guys they got rid of. It's a lot of fun again. I told them we'd come too far and worked too hard not to absolutely give our best effort out there and we needed everything we could for the remainder of the game. I don't think our guys ever did not play hard at any point in this game. We made mistakes, but they played hard and gave everything they had.

I like my chances, because I know how competitive I am. I love match play. It's going to be hard to play somebody as competitive as me. There might be guys better than me, but as far as as never giving up and always fighting and clawing, I don't think too many guys have that.
