en We set a grueling schedule for ourselves going out of state to Las Vegas and Illinois. We think our plan came together. Our guys are wrestling well, they're wrestling poised, and they came through in some tightly contested matches. That's a testament to the work they've put in.

We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

en Brendan has always been a heavyweight, but he was a small heavyweight. We started the program with freshmen and sophomores, with no upperclassmen and we were going out and wrestling a varsity schedule. We've been wrestling a varsity schedule for three seasons.

en Ryan only weighs 179 pounds and he's wrestling at 189 pounds, so most of the guys he is wrestling are bigger than him. Most of the guys he is wrestling are cutting weight to wrestle. For him to do what he did shows the type of heart he has. And he decided he would go 189 so his brother (Sean) could go 171. That shows you what type of person he is.

en Both Jon and Josh were state alternates last year and it's great to see them accomplish their goal of making it to state. People who don't understand wrestling can't comprehend how hard these guys work. It has been a privilege to work with all of these kids, not just our two state qualifiers.

en We'll miss Hilton, but it will be a terrific wrestling meet for the fans. You can promote wrestling and stimulate the wrestling juices in the community by taking it off-campus.

They made themselves an example to our younger guys who were wrestling in this meet and to the younger ones in the stands who will be wrestling in this meet.

en We will teach wrestling in general, not just Olympic wrestling. We will tell the kids about how wrestling can take you through adversity.

en This is what I work for. This is really what I want to do. I eat, sleep and dream wrestling. Now I understand why I have to be in the [wrestling] room. It's paying off.

en Illinois Best Weekly has four of us in their rankings. It's one of the premier wrestling conferences in the state. (Talent) goes pretty deep in the DVC.

en I'm not surprised by the success Gavin has had as a freshman. He's grown up in a wrestling family. His dad wrestled, and his older brother, Tim, was very successful for us. Gavin has had more wrestling matches in his living room and at family reunions than most people.
