We're hoping he could ordtak

en We're hoping he could be a 50-foot shot putter. We're really counting on him to be a consistent point scorer for us in that event.

en We just have not been getting good shots from three point range and nobody has been consistent in their three point shot. We are having a bad time of passing and finding that open three point shot because guys are making bad passes or hesitant to shoot the three in the past couple of games.

en They just shot lights out. They were like 9 of 12 in the first half from three-point range. Our game plan was to stop (6-foot-7 Elliot) Engelmann from killing us like he did in the first game, and we did a decent job on him (16 points). But their other guys came out and hit shot after shot after shot.

en You hate to say wait-and-see, but that's how it is, ... We're counting on him big time. At this point, I can't say in which capacity. We're hoping as a starter. If not, we'll do the next-best thing for him and us.

en When you lose a 30-point-a-game scorer, it's always going to be tough to score on a consistent basis. I think that's the biggest thing. We've got to stay together and try to get stops at the end instead of relying on scoring.

en I'd say normally any TOUR event is close. It's very rare that any of them are runaways. The guys are pretty evenly locked. It's very seldom a guy gets on a roll with his putter to the point where he can really separate himself from the field like Tiger (Woods) has done a few times and Ernie did here, and Duval.

en [When Day lined up his 29-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole in the second round of the Western Open, time nearly stood still. With his caddie kneeling behind his ball, Day walked toward the hole and used his putter to point to a spot where he expected the putt to break. Then he circled the hole as if he had to draw up some blueprints. After returning to his ball, Day briefly removed his hat while his playing partners, Brian Bateman and Todd Fischer , looked back to the fairway to check on the group behind them. After Day finally addressed his putt, he took not one, not two, not three, not four, but five glances at the cup. Then he struck the putt well, missing by less than a foot. By this time, nearly 80 seconds had elapsed.] He's a good guy and you don't want to point fingers or anything, ... but [a guy] in the group behind us asked me, 'Was that hole moving for him? It must have been moving.'

en My personal opinion is that I don't want our point guard to be our biggest scorer. But if our point guard is our best scorer, we have to find a way to take advantage of that, and he is going to be involved in a very competitive position to see who plays the most minutes.

en We were really unlucky. As much as the scorer guy might have messed up, I thought Bashir got fouled on the 3-point shot. I think everybody in the building saw that one, but we didn't get the call.

en I don't think golfers learn anything because at the end of last year when I was playing well, I was using a belly putter. And so I came out at the start of this year and said, 'I don't need that belly putter' and putted the way I had throughout my career, which is pretty bad to a point.

en He has come in and shot extra. I know he's counting on his shot going in. He's shot like, 'I'm going to make them.' It hasn't been a hope thing. It's (all about) repetition and feeling good about yourself.
  Bruce Weber

en As the ball penetrates each wall, it fixes a point and plots that against the next point. It determines in a 4-foot range how fast the ball is going, the trajectory of the ball, and somewhat the curvature of the ball. It's very accurate, and I would consider it to be a consistent machine.

en The familiar technique of counting to 10 not only provides the time needed for delay but also offers a distraction from the anger-arousing event. While busily counting, we are not mentally adding fuel to the fire of anger by mulling over whatever happened.

en She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. Oliver is probably the best high school basketball player that has ever played here on this court. He is just a phenomenal scorer. He hit every shot with a hand in his face. I don't think we could have guarded him any tighter than we did and he still made them, even on the four-point play.

en I thought Christina Schade shot very well today. This was the first time she was in the counting group and she responded very well. I thought we were very consistent today. We didn't have great scores, but we didn't have any real bad ones either.
