We have to be a little cautious about runoff. Even with the big storm in the mountains, if we don't get more precipitation, we may have to manage our supply more carefully.

We've very fortunate that this current storm system is going to deliver its precipitation north of there.

After the storm passes through, getting supplies is very, very hard. So it's really in your best interest to supply yourself ahead of time, before the storm even hits.

The models show most areas around the world will experience more intense precipitation for a given storm during this century.

There is indication that next weekend another storm is coming in. A system which will cool things down a bit and bring some precipitation.

We have created some capacity to handle a large amount of runoff. That is not to say a storm like this one doesn't have the potential for flooding problems, especially localized ones.

March does have the potential to be quite active. Any storm that grows from here on out until the end of the calendar winter season has the change to produce measurable precipitation.

It has been wet, but the recent storms have been warm. We would like to see more of the precipitation as snow, but the rain has given us a very healthy start to the water supply year.

June was much cooler and wetter than normal. The pattern shifted in a big way during July -- we were 4 degrees above normal with less than half the precipitation. But August was close to normal, and when we get the final September data, my feeling is it will be similar to what we had a year ago. So again, that could mean a wetter year with more runoff. But again, that's only if you're looking at trends.

The IEA report reminds us that there could be a supply problem in the fourth quarter. Storm damage and the chemical workers strike in France are going to hurt supply. Given the levels we have fallen from, prices are beginning to look like a bargain.
