He didn't dog it in the weight room. He pushed out extra sets.

Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

We knew we had this game coming up so as soon as this last game was done we got back in the weight room and tried to run. I think I had about five meals on Christmas Day, but you just got to work a little extra harder and try lose the weight after.

I have total confidence in my abilities. My thing is, I pride myself on being fully prepared when I step on the field, whatever it takes. Whether it takes studying extra film or doing extra work in the weight room.

He's been a different kid. Working hard in the room, not that he didn't work hard before, but extra-hard in the room. Putting in the extra time, being a good leader. All of the things you need to be to be successful.

In our free weight area, you know someone is going to do four sets on one machine, and you wait for them to finish all four sets.

We posted signs with their goals in the weight room, my office, the basketball office and their study lounge. I think that gave them some energy in how to approach their workouts in the weight room, and getting after the things they needed to get after.

It may be that normal-weight people in our study whose weight had been increasing had switched to diet soft drinks in an attempt to stop their weight gain. Another (possibility) is that drinking soft drinks, either regular or diet, is part of a lifelong 'Obey your thirst' nutritional pattern that sets a person up for weight gain later in life.

His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. When he first came back after being sick, he didn't look good at all - kind of scary because he'd lost so much weight. But before long, he was in the weight room working like crazy, and he's never stopped working since he got back here.

I didn't want a model in the room for three or four months. It would drive me crazy, drive them crazy. But also, they gain weight, they lose weight, their hair gets long, they cut it short, they're awake, they're asleep. And a painting becomes the mean average of all those conditions. I simply looked at photography as a way to jot down the information.
