Mount Tahoma is known for beating teams by 50 points or more. I'm extremely glad at how hard our girls played and the fact that we only lost by 14.

She came up big. It seemed like every time Mount Tahoma got within three points or one point, we'd get the ball in her hands and she'd find a way to stop the momentum.

If you've got two beautiful girls, I don't think you have to pick. If there are two beautiful girls, I don't think I'm going to say, 'Her hair's a little shorter' or 'Her hair's a different color'. These are two great offenses. It's hard to score to 50 points. How many times in the history of college football have two teams averaging 50 points played against each other at the end of the year?

Being here on the big stage is the fun part. The difference in the game was we had more heart and played as a team. We're friends with most of those guys on Mount Tahoma, but we're enemies on the court.

I feel like we are going to get stronger as we go through the season. The hope is that we can finish even better than we did last year. The girls work extremely hard and are very dedicated. The AA teams that we have played, we have been doing well against, and we have held our own against the bigger schools that we have played.

We lost to a great team. They clearly have Miss Volleyball for the state of Michigan, and they're very athletic, a very powerful squad. I'm so extremely proud of my girls tonight. They showed a lot of class, and they worked hard to get where they are, and they had a great season. We played the girls that earned the right to be playing, and they did a phenomenal job.

We played hard, but I don't think we played as hard as we could have. What I told the girls is that's something we need work. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. And that we are going to see Mount Baker again.

I was never upset that we had lost four in a row because we played some good teams during that stretch. We played well against Bellaire, and The Mount (de Chantal), and Park, and we were getting better each game.

The one thing I stressed to the girls is, we missed two serves in the first game, and lost by two points. We missed three serves in the third game, and lost by two points. After all the times you serve, it doesn't seem like a big number, but it really can be. We just couldn't put the ball down, and they have very good team. Both teams had tremendous heart, and gave tremendous effort. But that's always when these two teams meet.

They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

It was extremely hot out there today and very hard to recover after long points, ... I was feeling like I was a little out of energy and a little uncoordinated during some points. Overall I played well but I think I played too defensively. I should have been more aggressive and fighting for every point.

Nadia Petrova (1913-)

We've got six or seven girls on this team that can put up 15 or 20 points in a night. So I think that other teams might have a hard time reading us. We certainly have a bunch of girls that don't mind taking the big shots.

I'm proud of the girls. They made a lot of history this year. There's no reason for the girls to hang their heads. I'm glad they hung around until the end. They played hard from start to finish.

It was a well-played, hard-fought ballgame all the way throughout. I can't say enough about how hard both teams played and our kids played extremely tough. It was fun to watch, but unfortunately, we came out on the bottom end of it.

We are beating good teams right now. The Big Ten has a lot of really good teams. We went up to Michigan State and lost, but we came back and got some things ironed out and played really well tonight.
