en Reclamation is our new thing that we are trying to encourage more and more so we can put a second use to all the water we produce. It is a way to preserve the precious drinking water we have and use it for needs like human consumption.

en We know from previous work we've done in Wisconsin, for example La Crosse and Madison, that human viruses can be found in the municipal drinking water supply. We have some of the safest drinking water in the world, but we need to remain ever vigilant.

en Wherever we can find water we can produce oxygen, fuel and drinking water.

en While non-potable water is primarily not intended for human consumption, as anyone who has ever showered knows, small amounts of water often are inhaled as aerosol or swallowed during showering. Indeed, scientific investigations have shown that waterborne disease can be transmitted simply through inhaling aerosolized contaminated shower water.

en Water is not only a human and indigenous right, it is a sacred and powerful being. Our delegation is concerned that water is quickly becoming the next great commodity. But amidst the rampant corporate buy-up of water resources, there is a growing movement for the protection of water as a basic human right.

en The amount of water being saved by 1.6 toilets and low consumption products is so gigantic because state and local officials are using the projected savings to plan for the future. Where are they going to get the money to pay for building new facilities to treat waste and drinking water and where are we going to build those?

en There is no question that clean, affordable drinking water is essential to the health of our global community. But bottled water is not the answer in the developed world, nor does it solve problems for the 1.1 billion people who lack a secure water supply. Improving and expanding existing water treatment and sanitation systems is more likely to provide safe and sustainable sources of water over the long term.

en If everyone had one of these, it would reduce the amount of water that the whole society uses. And it would raise people's consciences that that water that comes from the sky is precious water. And that's not a gift to be taken for granted.

en We'd like to see a nice gradual warm-up so we can preserve water and get the longest season possible. Right now we're expecting high water and good fun water that we haven't seen in several years.

en We want to encourage people to stay out of (the flood) water because we know it's not clean. … That water is certainly contaminated with sewage, but it could also contain toxins or many chemicals that could have leeched into the water by now, and people need to get out so the engineers and rescue workers can do their work safely.
