en The penalty-kill unit did a great job, and the guys who aren't doing penalty kill did a great job because they're sitting there for about 13 minutes and not getting out there. When we did get back to 5-on-5, we did play well. That's huge, to have effort like that all the way through.

Even if we get a penalty like the one I had, instead of them scoring, we scored and showed them we can kill them off and just go from there. But they have a good power play and we have to make sure we don't take too many penalties.

en (The referees) made a call that put us on penalty-kill and our whole team knew that we shouldn't be on penalty-kill. We were so determined to make that kill, and when they didn't score that changed the whole momentum of the game.

en It's not just me. That's confidence as a group. Our penalty killing tonight was amazing. From the beginning to the end we played as a team. We are playing our game. We are so hungry on the penalty kill and we got the team where we want to be.

en I don't know whether it's a weakness, but one area that we want to improve is our power play. Our penalty killing has to improve, too. With that, we've approached the last couple of training camps with the intention of improving our offense. Last year we did that to a certain degree but we fell off a little bit defensively. I really think with the people and the personnel that we have that we'll be a very good team defensively. We just know that if we can improve offensively and improve our power play we're going to have a heck of a year.

en I've always worked hard just winning one-on-one battles. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. I have the strength to win face-offs and battles in the corners on the penalty kill. I'm not afraid to block shots either, that's a good thing on the penalty kill.

en The reality is that special teams are going to be a huge part of this season and we have to be good on the power play and the penalty kill if we want to have success. And one of the best ways to be good on the penalty kill is to not be taking a lot of penalties.

en We've got to upgrade our penalty killing. We're using guys right now that aren't used to playing on the penalty kill. Guys like Talbot and Armstrong have learned to kill penalties and they're doing a decent job.

en It's definitely a problem. I have a lot of confidence in our penalty kill but the odds are against us if we re going to take 10. It's known in the locker room but it's going to be addressed again.
