en I wasn't overly surprised, ... If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. We hadn't heard too much what was going on. I figured if he was going to be playing he would have been out on the ice (at South Mountain last week).

en For me and Kesey, too, we were trying to move into a new creative expression which was movie making, and being part of the movie. This was all a tremendous experiment in the arts. We always figured we would be totally successful and make a lot of money out of it.

en Audiences needed more motivation to get them out of the house and into the movie theater than ever before, ... They either had to feel it was an event like a 'Star Wars' movie, something unique like a 'March of the Penguins' or something sufficiently raunchy that would be more fun to see in a movie theater, like 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' or 'Wedding Crashers.'

en You can think of Hollywood as high school. TV actors are freshmen, comedy actors are maybe juniors, and dramatic actors - they're the cool seniors.

en There's a sense that Universal may have let down the side initially, with the way they marketed the film and the release date. If you just look at the gross, it's a perfectly respectable gross for that kind of dramatic movie. But given how expensive the film was, it was considered a box office disappointment.
