en Do I want one (a state title)? Dang right, but I'm not gonna sell my soul for one. I'm a purist. There are a lot of different championships.

en I've never experienced anything like this. We won a couple of state championships in high school (in 2003 and 2005). But it's not the same. I was joking with the team before the (title) game, that's what I do, win championships.

en The one thing we've stressed is how far confidence can take you. That will be pivotal going into next week at the state championships, if they want a shot at a state title. I think they can do it.

en We'd like to win a state title. We've been trying to focus on one goal. And anything we achieve going there ? a division title, a county title, hopefully, that'll just come along. But we're really shooting (for the state title). We think we can compete for it.

en I know I'm gonna play. You might come in and take my spot, but you'll have to be dang good to do it.

en The only way you can be concerned about being on a national level is when you've won a couple of state championships. Then you're thinking, how does your state compare to other people. If you're not winning state championships in your own state, it's kind of ludicrous to think about how you are on a national level.

en A lot of the state (athletics) championships are here in central Ohio. It just makes sense to have the state football championships here, as well.

en That's where the great players want to go. Just like Florida State, the thing that scares you with my dad the last two years is top players are gonna stop going there if they don't think they can play for national championships. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective.

en I don't think we care anymore about what we're gonna do. We're just gonna be our own band and we're not gonna pretend to be any more rock or any less whatever than we are. We're kinda hardcore kids, we're kinda a metal band in this weird way, we're kinda into soul, we're kinda into folk, we're kinda into a lot of stuff and we're just gonna do whatever we do.

en I'm gonna take it as I take every game, but deep down in my mind, I know it's gonna be more important, because every year, they're like a state championship-caliber team. ... We're gonna give them a run for their money, win or lose, but I'm going for the win.

en It's good to have a title that's not just one word. If you're gonna title it, you might as well try and say something.

en I know this experience will only help him and I look for him to be back contending for the state title again. I know he will work hard and continue to give the kind of effort to get him a shot at the state title next season.

en There are two things that have had to be considered as far as any schools playing football in the state of Florida. No. 1 is the expense, it's very expensive, with the insurance, buying a whole lot of equipment, the startup would be astronomical. And No. 2 is Title IX and gender equity. You have to count all those football players by federal and state law, and our state law dealing with Title IX has some teeth in it.

en Ohio State is obviously one of the best teams in the country. They just have all-around great athletes, great defenders. They're gonna try to get up and down the floor as much as they can. They're gonna pressure us as much as they can. They're gonna look to take us out of our game.

en We?re coming along. This is our last conference meet ..Within the next three weeks we can start to put it all together and put our best product out on the floor during the [state] championships and then the New England [championships].
