We couldn't pass up an opportunity to play a program like LSU. They have so much history and tradition and respect in the SEC, and as a program won a national title a couple years ago and finished fifth last season. They have been one of the premiere programs in all of college football of this decade. We are looking forward to the trip to Death Valley, where it is difficult to win. We're really tough to guard because we can spread you out. We drop it on the floor a couple times, you get into gaps, dice people up and just find the open guy. It's tough to guard.

Magic was a true point guard, in my opinion. He could see the floor, and his passes were amazing. I always loved the way he played. I think I play like him a little bit because he was so relaxed on the floor. You never really knew what to expect from him.

We played them once before just like we played Independence. We have to be focused because we can't take anything for granted. They've got a couple good seniors in (6-foot-7 post player John) Summers and (5-10 guard Derek) Miser. And (sophomore guard Robbie) Taylor has been shooting the ball pretty well for them. We'll have to be ready.

So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

We couldn't guard them in anything we played. If you can't guard them in anything you play it's kind of a sickening feeling. We knew going in it had to be a 68-62 game. Hell, they had 48 at halftime.
