en Early, where he really struggled was getting shots. He became a jump shooter. He can make shots, but when that becomes the primary function, that's a problem. He's so good on the bounce; and when he plays the 4 or 5, they can't guard him on the dribble. He can hit the shot, but if they come up, he can go by them.

en He was really hitting some tough shots early. He's such a great jump shooter. He really elevates off the floor. en We really got up on him and kind of took him out of his rhythm early. We wanted him to have to dribble to his shot and get in the paint. He's a jump shooter. That's how he makes his living -- making threes.

en We haven't been in that situation very often. Typically we come out strong and make shots early. I think we settled for some shots that this year we haven't. We got the ball inside but I thought we settled for jump shots early on.

en I think his biggest improvement overall has been the ability to take jump shots off the dribble. He did that tonight. Also defensively he's become more of a communicator and not just a shot blocker.

en He has a lot of confidence. I watched him knock down shots like that in the past. Steve is a good shooter. He's a pass-first point guard. A lot of people out there don't get to see it, but he can definitely knock down big shots when he has his opportunity.

en He has really good timing and he can block shots with either hand. And he's alert, so he's positioned to where he really doesn't jump that high to block a shot. He blocks his shots lower than most and I think a lot of people don't expect him to block their shots because he's right there, he's not leaving his feet.

en We executed our game plan in the second half. But they hit their shots tonight. Their point guard is very good -- and what can you say? They hit their shots and made plays.

en They tried to take Alana out of the game early with a box and one or a triangle and two and some of our other girls stepped up. Kelsey hit two early jump shots - from 16, 17 feet out - and Zimmermann had some nice shots in the paint. Everyone got involved.

en We struggled to score and that has been the issue for this team the whole season. We need guys to step up and knock down shots. When we get good, open looks, we need to make the shots, and we're not doing that right now.

en They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.
