They are the quickest team we have faced this year, and it caused us a lot of problems in the first half. It took us a whole 20 minutes to get used to that quickness. We did a better job in the second half and actually outscored them, but it wasn't enough to overcome the first half.

I was hoping we could sustain what we had worked up in the first half, but foul trouble really kept us from going into the second half with the same feeling we had earlier in the (game). Memphis has an explosive team and I think they were able to run us and we hit the wall about six, seven or eight minutes into the second half. And that made it difficult for us to overcome that run.

We played them pretty even in the second half. We were playing defensive against them, but we made a couple of mistakes in the first half. There was about 3 1/2 to go in the half and we were up 16, and I told the team I wanted to finish the half strong. And the reverse happened. We allowed No. 21 (Utah's Shaun Green) to break loose. We lost to them by 20 points the last time we faced them (72-52 on Jan. 10) and they were up 33-9 on us in that one, then we outscored them from there to the end of the game. This time, though it wasn't the whole first half, but it certainly was a quarter.

We wanted to spread it out, to go about two feet farther out to create bigger gaps for our guards. We felt like we could cause them problems as far as quickness. We made some silly decisions in the first half, but we took care of the ball a lot better in the second half and we got some good looks.

I was really disappointed with the start of the second half. (Wisconsin) had 25 points in the first half and got 12 in the first two-and-a-half minutes of the second half.

For the life of me, I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get this team to play hard for 40 minutes. Against BG, we had a great first half and sucked the second half; against these guys, we sucked the first half and had a great second half, but not great enough. We've got a lot of players who just want to participate and don't want to compete.
