en Defensively we played a very strong game. Chad Russo cleared a ball off the goal line. We are tough to score on right now. We are in a week where we can be competitive.

However, getting the shutout is real important to us. When you go through a weekend and allow only one goal, you are going to win a lot of games.

en She (Russo) played very well ? she got a lot of steals. Offensively, she continually followed her shots. It was a case of us getting her the ball. She played a heck of a game.

en He took the team on his back. The game was on the line and every time we needed a play he got the ball to the guy that should have it to score or he took it to the goal himself.

en We valued the ball and we played great defense in the second half. That's why we won and that's why we were more aggressive on the offensive end. We were being strong with the ball and strong on the ball defensively.

en She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. No matter how good or bad defensively you are, you've got to score. It didn't look like it but we played pretty good defensively. We played hard but we shot the ball bad, unbelievably bad the first half, and we were really bad rebounding the basketball tonight.

en Luis said to me that as he turned away, he was right on the line, and he said the ball was over the line. And after the game my secretary Sheila, who was sitting right in line in the main stand, said to me that the ball had crossed the line. She is a very honest person and that was good enough for me. It was a goal.

en At times, we got down on the goal line and they were running the ball in. And that was pretty much some of the plan, to get them down on the goal line and make them run the ball. Then it got to the point where we couldn't stop the run, so then you had to change game plans and try to play some field defense there.

en I have a lot of respect for Chad. I want to see Chad do well. We're competitive but it's not about being competitive with Chad right now. It's just going out there and doing the best that you can as an individual and being able to accomplish the dream that you set.

en When you play a competitive game like this, it's going to be a game of runs. We had one early and they came back. We just got out of sync and rhythm offensively. In the third quarter we had some shots we normally make. They didn't go down. They played very good defense and made it tough on us to score.

en It was a good night for us on offense. Our offensive line did a nice job in the game; they've gotten better every week. Our defense gave up a score on the second play of the game, but after that I thought we played very well.

en Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

en Some guys left the rink feeling they didn't play their best game, and that's tough. It didn't happen. We didn't get in synch. All year we've had a tough time when we don't score the first goal. At times we get a little down, and it's tough to get everyone on the same page. We would have loved to get to the semifinals, so that's disappointing. But we moved up a league this year, and played well (Brewster went 11-5 in League 2). Four of our losses were by one goal. So overall, the kids shouldn't be disappointed. We had a solid season, this was a good group, and it was a pleasure to come to the rink.
