en Plummer was a different quarterback with Gary. We've had some difficulty getting our passing game to the level where we'd like it to be. en To get your rhythm as your offense, you have to stick with one quarterback. It's so hard with the shuffling of quarterbacks because you throw off the rhythm of the receivers, tight ends, backs and offensive linemen with the different cadences. With Gus pretty much being labeled as No. 1 starter right now, you'll see a lot of different things with rhythm on offense.

en Vince Young is more of a spread-offense guy, where he takes a great majority of snaps in the shotgun. He is not dissimilar to a number of other quarterbacks who have had great success in that offense and didn't immediately make the transition to taking the snap and dropping back. You saw that last year with Smith.

en The offense needs leadership. The quarterbacks have to take responsibility in that area.

en We get the type of quarterbacks we get here because we allow them to be a major part of the offense. We don't want robots.

en Our offense has been very average and by rotating quarterbacks, we couldn't ever get into synch.

en Really, all the time we're working on getting to the ball, which helps against the spread offense. But we'll have separate periods dedicated to the spread offense, and we'll have fast guys at quarterback, trying to emulate the spread quarterbacks. We've really been working hard on that.

en He's the catalyst of our offense. I know Ben doesn't put up numbers like Peyton Manning and other quarterbacks, but he does go out and win.

en He's the carburetor (for the offense). There's some awfully good quarterbacks in this league, But Dusty is right in there with the best of them. We think he gives us a chance to win every game.

en Quarterbacks make a big difference in the playoffs. With Rex Grossman, the Bears are a team that can conceivably beat you on offense as well as defense, whereas I don't know that you could have said that about Jim Miller.
