en I felt I had to step up. I'm the other captain on the team (with Webster), and captains are supposed to lead by example. I told myself that I would go out and have a good second half, and not force things like I was in the first half. en In the first half, we looked like a team that hadn't played much all summer, ... John Glenn outworked us in the first half and we played horribly. At halftime, I told them they needed to step up, especially on defense. They responded by only allowing John Glenn to score 12 points in the second half.

en I felt good only down three. We are definitely a second-half team and we gave up a few baskets in the first half that were really bad bounces. Our strength is our team speed. We are pretty athletic and we can wear teams down.

en It's a game of two halves. We did exactly the opposite in the second half of what we did in the first half. We were nowhere in the zip code with Smith on his first two shots. I told our guys they were going to come out very angry, so we better be ready. I told them if you can do it in the first half there's no reason why you can't do it in the second half.

en It's a huge honor to be chosen captain. Especially with the senior class we have. It's been a goal of mine since I got here to become captain and to lead this team, but it really is the entire class. We're such a strong unit that even though the three of us many share the title, it's not just the captains leading this team, it's the whole senior class.

en You can't look at a record and say they aren't very good. Mentally you think we don't really have to do anything. They're going to come in and we'll be able to wear them down. I felt like we did that in the second half. We just shut it back down again and started doing the things we did in the first half.
