I felt I had to step up. I'm the other captain on the team (with Webster), and captains are supposed to lead by example. I told myself that I would go out and have a good second half, and not force things like I was in the first half. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

I was upset [at halftime], ... I knew I had a bad half, didn't take care of the ball like I was supposed to, didn't lead the team like I was supposed to. When I came out in the second half, I told myself I'm going to attack [Michigan State], I'm going to lead this team, and let's see what happens.

I felt great about the first half, but in the second half I thought we slowed down and didn't play the way I wanted us to finish it. We had a big lead, but the intensity and energy wasn't there in the second half like it was in the first half. You can work on things, but still have intensity. I felt like we didn't have any intensity.

That was really a good basketball team we played tonight. They shot 62 percent in the first half. We felt good being down by three points. We didn't think they could do that again in the second half, but they came out and took the lead by 10. I thought we panicked a few times.

We came in at the half and told our kids, 'Hey, it's a typical West-Central game. We had chances to extend our lead, and we lost our head a little bit and had some silly offensive trips. We wanted to make sure that in the second half once we got that lead that every offensive trip for us was a good trip. I thought we showed a little bit of maturity that way in the second half.

Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. We went back to what we normally do and that's pressuring the ball. She had a tougher time in the second half scoring. In the first half it was so easy.

First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.

We've been playing from behind all year long. When we lead at the half, it seems like we tend to lose the game. So when we were down four at the half, I felt good about our chances.

We felt like we could play a lot better second half. We were up three, so we felt pretty good about where we were. We've been a second-half team in the last four, five or six games. We've always been able to make a push, and were able to do it again.

In the first half, we looked like a team that hadn't played much all summer, ... John Glenn outworked us in the first half and we played horribly. At halftime, I told them they needed to step up, especially on defense. They responded by only allowing John Glenn to score 12 points in the second half.

I felt good only down three. We are definitely a second-half team and we gave up a few baskets in the first half that were really bad bounces. Our strength is our team speed. We are pretty athletic and we can wear teams down.

It's a game of two halves. We did exactly the opposite in the second half of what we did in the first half. We were nowhere in the zip code with Smith on his first two shots. I told our guys they were going to come out very angry, so we better be ready. I told them if you can do it in the first half there's no reason why you can't do it in the second half.

It's a huge honor to be chosen captain. Especially with the senior class we have. It's been a goal of mine since I got here to become captain and to lead this team, but it really is the entire class. We're such a strong unit that even though the three of us many share the title, it's not just the captains leading this team, it's the whole senior class.

You can't look at a record and say they aren't very good. Mentally you think we don't really have to do anything. They're going to come in and we'll be able to wear them down. I felt like we did that in the second half. We just shut it back down again and started doing the things we did in the first half.
