There was a little adjustment in defense from Saturday's game. We were more inspired to win today. Whitney shot very well and Jackie had three huge 3-pointers and did well on defense.

We got to here because of our defense. Today we just kept going at them with 3-pointers and going into the post and it was just too much for them. Although our defense was solid again, this was definitely an offensive day.

Our defense definitely kept us in the game. We aren't giving up easy shots. He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence. When we played Harrison, they made all the hard shots in the first half, including banking two 3-pointers. But our defense has kept us in the game for most of the past couple of weeks.

She's one of the more dominate players in our league, and she showed it Saturday. She can control the defense on the boards and get it out to our guards -- she's a force for us. Not only was she tough on defense, but she scored nine our 17 points in the second half, and she shot four of seven from the field.

This is a nice honor for Katie. She has made a quick adjustment to the college game. She's doing a great job contributing, not just on defense, but on offense as well. She's another part of a defense that has done well so far this season.

In the first half, we didn't play defense at all. We played horrible defense and that's the biggest part of our game. Then we buckled down and played great defense and gave ourselves a shot.

We played a great game against Campbellsport and then we struggled offensively against Grafton. But our defense came through on Saturday. The teams that play the best on defense at this stage of the year generally do well.

I'll tell you what, we had way more than three errors today. They were pretty generous in the scoring on some of those. Until we can take an aggressive mentality to the field on defense, we are going to struggle. We just have some guys who are not making the adjustment to this level in that part of the game.

(Witte) hit her spots and let her defense play behind for her a little bit and that's what she needed to do. You can't expect her to come out and strike out 14 every game, you have to play defense. And we played defense today.

Defense won the game for us. We had an incredible amount of intensity on defense against a good team. This was a huge win for us.

We do have a good defense, and that's going to be the key to winning this game. Amanda Haynes is one of the best offensive players in state, but if my defense shows up, we have a shot.
