Now, the pros don't allow their quarterback to get hit quite as much as we do in college football in our spread offenses and so forth, but I just think because people are so well-schooled on defense, you've got to give them more problems. I think if you have that as part of your package, it can give you a chance. Some of the people in our league do it very, very well.

All things aren't good, but all things can work together for good and part of my faith reminds me that this is not my ultimate home and things will not be ideal here, but we have the opportunity to do a lot of good. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked.

en I think he's been what a coach should be. He wants everything done the right way. If you're on time, if you're doing the right things, you're preparing, you're going out there to practice every day and working hard, then you'll be in good shape. That's kind of the way I've always expected a football coach to be.

en Physically, I felt good. So that's always a good thing early on -- having the health there. The cutter was kind of hit or miss today, so there's still a couple things to work on. Obviously, you would like to start better, but I got my work in.

en He knows his stuff and he probably would be in the pros if he didn't get hurt. Definitely a good guy for the head coach.

en Coach had a talk with me. He just wanted me to keep my head up. That was the first true test of the offense. There's a lot of things we have to work on, but we saw some good things on the film. He wants the same intensity. He don't care how good you played or how bad you played.

en I have a good libero and a good setter. That's a good place to start. The other things are kind of up in the air, but I'll know more in three days and even more a week from now and more than that when we come back to Nebraska.

en He was good at focusing on your weaknesses. As pros, we all practice our strengths because it's fun and makes us feel good about ourselves. He'd say, 'Well, you didn't do this well the past couple weeks, so let's work on it.' It seemed like I was a little more consistent with everything.

en You just have to keep trying to do good work, and hope that it leads to more good work. I want to look back on my career and be proud of the work, and be proud that I tried everything. Yes, I want to look back and know that I was terrible at a variety of things.

en It felt good. I was the head coach at Willis for 16 years, so it was kind of fun to go back and play. The kids enjoyed it. Winning is always fun no matter what level it's at. It was a good team effort.

en We had [Jefferson] going well. I didn't have a problem sitting back and just watching. At the same time, coach wanted me to stay aggressive, and we kept getting good shots. That's how we work. If things aren't working individually, we know where each other are going to be.

en Jim's a great coach. From a defensive perspective, I know he brings us a lot of things we can hang our hat on. I definitely think he has the ability.
