en Last year when we were there we found it hard to get any points. We scored in almost every event this year.

en We've just been working hard and it was pretty tough sledding today. We just kept scoring points in event after event and when we looked up we'd scored a whole pile of points. It was a good first meet but we know tougher meets lie ahead.

en Last year, [Jenkins] was our most valuable player. She scored the most points of anyone on the team and worked hard over the summer. Her work ethic is so much better this year.

en I think we have a better team this year obviously than we did last year. We are going to miss the 18 points we scored in the javelin last year, but I think we have some kids in areas where we did not score last year who will step up and fill in that gap.

en It's good to get these guys over the hump. We didn't win an event, and we won the meet. That's what they've been about all year. They're a great team, and that's why we won. From top to bottom, we had lots of guys that scored points.

en Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

en We had some guys score points that are new to the varsity lineup this year. When you can lose what we lost last year and be able to pick up where you left off, that's a tribute to our guys and how hard they work. Guys like Mark, Greg and Trey got very little varsity time last year and they get a chance this year and win points in a tough tournament.

en This is our second consecutive victory at this meet. Last year we won with 80 points. This year we scored 83. All in all, it was a very nice day.

en We've scored really with balance. Our top six players have all scored at least 15 points in one game this year.

en We did much better this time around than we did last year, that’s for sure, ... I think we scored five points - in the two matches combined - last year.

en At the end of last year when I found out I got third I set one of my main goals to win the award this year. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. I wasn't even expecting that last year and was cool about it because there was Cookie Miller and Adam Fletcher who were great players and averaged like 25 points per game.

en I think it's entertaining, the fact that I've been able to score points. The important thing is that I've been able to do it and we've been able to win. That's why I do it — to help ensure victories. It's only on an as-needed basis. There have been games this year, where I've scored 11 points and we've won.

en You can call the center and buy the tickets and pick them up at will call the day of the event. Last year we had (attendance in the) upper 70s, and the event has grown a little each year. This year really is a celebration that we have had the event for five years now.

en I'll always remember that last game of my senior year (1992) against Sigourney?Keota. Sigourney?Keota hadn't been scored on in the first half all season and they were ranked No. 1. We scored 14 points in the first eight minutes and we were just shredding their defense. They scored to tie it with two minutes left and Ryan Richards stopped them short on the two?point attempt. But we fumbled the kickoff and they recovered it and scored to win. I felt so bad for my Dad. I'm 30 now and not a day goes by that that game doesn't pop up in my mind.

en We don't worry about how many points we score. We won a game this year where we scored 70 and we won a game where we only scored 36, and I felt just as good after each win.
