I've kind of been ordtak

I've kind of been hit or miss the past couple of weeks. I've done some really good stuff, then made a bad swing when I shouldn't. However, this golf course will do that to you. Sometimes you can't just dial it in to the perfect yardage to some of these pins. I just need to be out there making good swings and taking the results it gives me.

Look at it this way, ... Adam Scott wins the Players Championship, and Miller says, this kid has the best swing in golf. Now, he has a nice swing, there's no denying it. But you get this stuff, his swing is better than Tiger's, blah blah blah. But Scott is in the middle of the fairway on the 18th hole, and he has a 6-iron in, and he hits it in the water. Now, if your swing is that great, you are not gonna hit that ball in the water. His swing is good -- I'm not trying to say his swing is bad. But you're gonna miss to the right, anywhere to the right. Then he shoots whatever he shot at the Bell South, and misses the cut. Then he shoots 80 at Augusta, and no one even says anything about it. Nobody says, oh, maybe we jumped the gun on that one. Which is a little bit unfair.

Mark O'Meara (1957-)

He just kept us in the game, plain and simple. They were taking good swings early, but not as good of swings later. He settled into his game real good. His stuff was electric, there's no question. I'll take one run every time someone takes the ball.

I thought he was pretty good. Coming out of spring training, he turned the dial up with his intensity, with his stuff. He made a couple of bad pitches, obviously, but I thought he could have been out of that fifth inning and it's 2-0 ... a couple of balls hit hard and that's about it.

I feel pretty good, and we've still got a couple of weeks to get ready. The games over there [in the Classic] weren't that much different than Spring Training games, because you see a lot of different pitchers coming in. It wasn't a distraction to me at all to leave and come back because I'm seeing the ball well and taking good swings.

She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

I do miss [kissing Meloni], ... I'll be honest with you, I really do miss it. He's such a good actor. But you know what, ka-ching. I'd have to do this job for 30 years before I made the kind of money he's making on NBC.

Lee Tergesen (1965-)

Most guys take a couple of days off, come back and swing at everything kind of out of whack. He's up there taking pitches like he didn't miss a beat. But you're talking about an exceptional athlete.

The good stuff is on the body. The fibers on the neck and leg are not fine, but they are perfect to be made into felt for hats. It also dyes better, making it perfect for hats.

I believe in making people miss. But I ran that guy over and made him miss at the same time. It all depends on what kind of mood I'm in. If I'm really mad at the time, I'm going to try and run the guy over. If I'm feeling really good and shifty, then I'm going to mix it up.

Yeah, it is frustrating. But there is some good with it. When you move the ball 80 yards on your first drive, and all of a sudden you're on the 1-yard line, and all of a sudden you lose your momentum like we did. When you go against a good defense and you're in long-yardage situations, you're going to be in for a long day, so you can't stop yourself. We're going to play a lot of good defensive football teams this year, so we'd better pick it up. If we don't, then we're going to be inconsistent like we have been the past two weeks.
