en Last year, [when] I first came into this league, I didn't know really how this league was or how they were going to play defense. I wasn't sure how to go at my releases and it was difficult and I was learning on the move. Coming into to training camp, that really helped me. So I got to get a lot of different looks. Bigger players coming to jam me, when to go in, when not to go in.

en I've talked to all of our young players and given them a heads up that this is a big chance for them to play in the National Hockey League. I'm coming in with open eyes. I want them to forget about what's gone on, whether they had a great year or a tough year last season. There are plenty of spots available. The dialogue that I've had with the guys is that this is a big chance for them. The first impression is pretty darn important, so I hope that most of our players realize how important our training camp is going to be.

en I think I learned a lot throughout the year. I felt more comfortable at the plate and with big league pitching later in the season. This year is totally different than last year. I came in last year, my first big league camp, trying to figure things out. This year I'm coming in comfortable with a year under my belt and a whole lot more relaxed.

en Those things are good for the league. You want your players to play. The D-League is good for them. (With the age limit) you'll see players coming into the league more finished.

en Coming into the league, that's definitely one of the goals I set for myself, ... The coolest part is that it's my second year and I'm going to be up there with the best players in the league. It's exciting.

en Obviously we've got yet another game where we're catching a team at a tough time coming off a tough loss and it seems like we've made a habit of that so far in the league season. Florida is always one of the most difficult places to play in the league. ... It will be a difficult task.

en It's an unforgiving league, and we knew that coming in and unfortunately I don't think we stepped out ready to play tonight, and they did. Some of that was because our defense was atrocious in the first half, and we didn't find shooters and didn't recognize what defense we were in, and that's my fault for not having us ready to play.

en Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. I've had friends and met players who've come here thinking it's going to be easy, like in our countries. . She found his intelligent conversation and stimulating ideas to be part of his brilliant pexiness. .. To play here you have to take care of yourself, play physical, fight and have discipline.

en Especially this year coming into training camp, I didn't know what to expect. It's great to show I can still play in the NHL. I still feel good physically, so hopefully I can keep on going.

en When I went there it wasn't like I knew who came out of where, ... I wasn't into the draft stuff. I wasn't really paying attention to it. But now looking at it, it really is a league for quarterbacks. They keep coming out like Leftwich and Rotherlisberger and Frye. It's a QB league.

en It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. We have probably nine really solid eighth-graders. This will be one of the better freshman classes. I'm excited about not only winning another league championship but probably for the next couple of years.

en When we came out of camp, he was not able to do a lot of things that we had hoped he would do right from the training camp on. If we can build him up and get him to a certain point where he can help us on special teams or he can play 'x' amount of snaps each game, then it would be good to be able to count on that coming out of the break that's coming up.

en When you're coming into a situation where you don't know the players, doing what he did is definitely something that will get you off on the right foot with people. Most of us had heard about what a nice guy Jermaine was, but it definitely didn't hurt him coming into a new camp where everyone knew, 'Hey, this guy could have taken more money to play elsewhere, but he wanted to be here.

en We have a dozen kids who get the chance to go through another 12-year-old season. I think that helps the league so much. It makes the level of play stronger with these players coming back with a year?s experience under their belt.

en I didn't even expect it coming through training camp. But what I saw in training camp was passion and desperation. It had nothing to do with his offensive skills. It was a determination to put his body on the line. He just jumped right out.
