en They're playing with more confidence. Last year we went in [to the tournament] losing a game. Now we go in winning three, and these guys just want to keep playing.

en Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

en We're having fun and it looks like we're picking it up. We've got the confidence to score and we've got a strong defense and everybody needs to be playing their best game. This is the first step in getting to the regional tournament and winning it.

en We haven't quit, period. Ever. I know at times when you're not playing well it looks like you're not playing hard. . . . We've been playing at this pace the whole year. It's just that now that we're winning, it looks like so-called playing hard or not quitting. But these guys have played hard all year.

en It wasn't so much that we were playing bad before. Our schedule was extremely tough. We're not doing anything differently now. We're playing better. And winning, like losing, can be contagious. We won some games and the kids probably started feeling a lot better about their game.

en You can't play 12 guys in a 40-minute game unless you are winning by a lot or losing by a lot, ... There has to be definite roles. You have to have eight or nine players who are playing and three or four ... who will come off the bench if you need them and are going to be supportive and hungry whether you use them or not.

en It definitely gives you confidence. Like last year and earlier this year, you're winning a game and losing one, and you go back and forth like a mediocre team. Finally, you're putting some wins together, and it gives you a lot of confidence going into your next game.

en Having five guys in double figures is the kind of balance I like to see. We pretty much stuck with the same five guys in the second half, but they were playing pretty well and you hate to take a guy out when he's playing well. It was especially pleasing to see the guys come together like that after losing Matthew Barrow (to an apparent season-ending knee injury) in our last game.

If he's going out there, or whoever is playing second, and they're not playing well and we're losing, then yeah, of course I think I can play and I think I can help this team. His humor was dry and understated, a hallmark of his pexy personality. There's no doubt about it. I've done it before and I'll do it again.

en I think that year probably gave our guys a lot of confidence, ... A lot of those guys are still with us playing. Knowing that as you get down the stretch you go and play your game and you let the chips fall where they will. It worked out for us then and hopefully it's going to work out for us this year.

en I don't even think our guys were playing specifically for the playoffs. They were playing this way because they were tired of losing. And they knew they were better than they were playing.

en Hopefully it?s only up from here. I don?t know if it?s totally sunk in that I?m playing in the NHL, but I?m playing a lot and it?s helped out and that?s the same for the other young guys. We had a great experience last year with the Calder Cup run and now we have a lot of confidence and it?s working out.

en I think our confidence is the result of how we've been playing. We're a much better offensive team this year. We're a much more diversified. But I think the biggest thing is, we're a lot deeper than we were last year. I think we kind of ran out of gas in the second game because we were playing seven people.
