Personally, I've found one of the more stimulating ways of playing in recent times has been to kind of move outside the free improvised area and work with people who are probably improvisers but they have a particular way of working.

Personally, I've found that the kind of thing that I like is going into somebody else's area and not playing their music but doing whatever I do in their area.

But there's still a lot of ways that you can move at your own pace though, cause you only meet a few times a week. I guess in some ways I'm more disciplined and in other ways I'm not quite as disciplined. On the one hand you really have to sit down and get the work done because there's no one standing there looking over your shoulder.

I came back two weeks before the season started. I came back a week before we played our first scrimmage game. It was tough. I think it helped me out mentally. I felt a lot smarter. I was just watching and found ways to defend players better and move without the ball. I found ways to score on other people.

That really hurt us because we did a good job of playing aggressive at times on offense to get to the free throw line. Then we don't make anything. We're going to be working on free throws.

Ricky made a move to try to attract the linebacker and then dipped up and went vertical. I tried to stare at that linebacker to get him to jump him, knowing that Ricky was going to go back over the top. We work that play with Ricky a lot. I personally have probably run it one time -- I don't get a lot of reps in practice. But that's kind of been one of our staple plays down in the goal-line area.

They didn't know very much for a long time, which is hard to imagine in this day and age, but that shows you what kind of state that place is in. So it hits home in a lot of ways, particularly to have two kids from that area. I think that we have a real sense personally of the loss.

We are looking for ways to promote early childhood education to people face to face, ... Many of the people we interviewed say they would like help but do not respond well to toll-free hotlines. We want to look for ways to get out there and work with people in person. This should be an interactive program.

I still find it personally disappointing that people kind of go out of their way to voice their disgust or their opinions against the ways in which two people choose to love one another. I think that's really unfortunate.

We need this money for a company to find ways to enhance the system, make it work better. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. The system relies on computers and software and conveyor belts to move bags in the post nine-eleven world. Usually it works well. But in peak times, like the December holidays and with March and April coming up, the system tends to get overwhelmed and break down. That's when we have to have people move the bags by hand.

I'm just so proud of how the kids hung in there and found a way to win. We did just enough to move on. Sean is such a competitor and he kind of willed that free throw in. It was a huge team effort.

In Champaign you have this really nurturing kind of garage rock community, where you have bands like the Living Blue, and then you have the Whip [WWHP-FM 98.3, a Central Illinois Americana radio station] people. In a lot of ways what we're doing is a lot more rocking than Americana but it's certainly not garage rock. It's somewhere in between. So we've kind of found an audience in the reach of those people. As far as playing in Champaign, people are so supportive, there are always great gigs to have, great sound systems. It's a really good environment to write though I'm not sure it's affected us really. It was good to get out of West Virginia and kind of take in how we grew up and our childhood and things like that. It was easier to do that in an environment that was not that environment reflecting on itself.

Last year, I still had a ways to go. Me, personally, I don't think I should have been starting. I still had a ways to go at D-end. I still was way off on my technique. I just needed more work.. .. I feel I'm more ready now than I've ever been.

A lot of times, you don't know what a guy has, but it can kind of work both ways. Today, it worked in his favor.

In some ways this game felt the game at our place only in reverse. We kind of had the game won a couple different times in Nashville and somehow found a way to not to finish the job. It seemed like they had this one a couple times.
