We didn't have a very good start defensively. Coach talked to us about stepping it up on defense, so we began forcing turnovers and went on a run.

Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

We felt good about it. And we had some opportunities in overtime, but we had some untimely turnovers, too. But give Mac credit. They play a lot of pressure defense and they're good about forcing turnovers.

The key to our win was our goaltending and our defense. Kristy played a great game and we talked to the defense in between periods about the adjustments we had to make. (Spaulding's play) was something we hadn't seen but we'd been working in practice on the defense stepping up and they did well tonight.

I felt like we really didn't execute the way we needed to. There were silly turnovers. We didn't do a very good job defensively. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

We locked down defensively to get the lead. We got to do what we wanted to do offensively. We didn't turn the ball over. We forced turnovers early and turnovers late. We took care of the basketball and didn't give them chances to score out of our offense.
