en I am concerned about that. We've struggled with that all season long. It's something that we need to keep working on and work through.

en That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. We had struggled with free throws all season long, so the last couple of days in practice that's what we've been working on and it definitely helped us.

en We believe physically he is doing pretty well. He had his knee cleaned out after the season and he's been in Phoenix rehabbing and working out. We've been in touch with him. The mental part is harder to answer. Obviously, he struggled last year. It's important to remember that he struggled at another point of his career and bounced back and had a string of success and had dominant years as a closer after he struggled. He's done that before and we're optimistic he can do it again.

en It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

en I struggled at times, ... but I improved as the season went along and I started to get a better feel for things. I still have a long way to go, but I am making improvements. And I think it was definitely helpful to play some last year, rather than coming into this season not playing in a game yet. en Wes is a youngster who is a gym rat. He loves to work out and is always working on his game, always working on his body. I think he's pushed himself as close to the max as anybody I've coached in a long, long time.

en We need that. We've really struggled all season long in the seven, eighth and ninth (spots). No one was consistent there.

en Injuries are part of the game. We always put 11 out there. And that is going to be our 11 for that play or that day. That's all we can work with. We can't work with who's down or whatever, we just have to hold it together until the guys come back. The season is long. We're just seven games in, and we've got a long way to go.

en Our defense is working good. We prided ourselves on that all season long. Now we have to sit back and keep working in practice and see what happens.

en He's worked hard. He had to do off-season work and in-season work. Where he's come from, he's come a long, long way.

en I don't think there's been a player who's out for the season who hasn't struggled with it emotionally. [Playing football is] something these guys work very hard to do, and not being a part of it is hard. I haven't known too many of them who have eased through it. It's a lot of hard work physically and mentally [to come back].
