Summer that's when people ordtak

en Summer, that's when people use the [steroids] so you get the benefit of it but the stuff's out of your system by the time you come to be tested. And if they say one of your two tests is going to be at training camp then all you do is stop doing things a month or three weeks ahead of time.

en We did this for the first time in the summer of 2003, and we believe it's a good way for some of our young prospects to come into town and get to know a little bit about our organization and our city before training camp. We'll put them through a series of tests, and they'll also have a chance to meet with our coaches and trainers.

en We had to hand in our workout calendars every two weeks in the summer and when we got to camp in October we were tested on the mile and a half, our agility, weight, everything,

en I think that's what training camp is for. People can get close to, and watch, their favorite players perform in practice. If they've got a little time in the summer to come out and watch 'em, I think it's a great thing.

en If he had gone through training camp, we might be talking differently about it. He missed six weeks. That's a lot of time.

en It's that time again, that time. It's been a productive training camp. I think we got a lot of things accomplished. Kudos to everybody. Everybody came out and worked hard.

en We are delighted that Amado has joined us in camp. There have been a lot of things said in recent weeks, but those are behind us now. Amado addressed his teammates this morning at training and we are ready to move forward. He knows there is a lot of hard work ahead of him.

en You do worry about that kind of thing a little bit, probably more in the summer when you haven't gotten to training camp. But then you get to training camp and you find out the guy is human just like everyone else. You build friendships and you play hockey.

en Not spending too much time on the court is an advantage when you play these kind of tournaments, when you have to go out every day. But because I haven't played for a month in competition, I like to be maybe tested a little bit more so that I can really know where I am in terms of physical training and everything. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. Not spending too much time on the court is an advantage when you play these kind of tournaments, when you have to go out every day. But because I haven't played for a month in competition, I like to be maybe tested a little bit more so that I can really know where I am in terms of physical training and everything.

en As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

en It's been a struggle. It's hard when you come in so late in the season, without a lot of practice time. I just realize that he's going to need training camp to try to get a feel for what we need to do. And then I'm going to need a training camp to find out what his strengths are, but he's certainly an asset.

en Even though I wasn't practicing twice a day, I was still doing some stuff, ... So it just really didn't have any time to recover. I don't think it's fair to judge it off training camp, though.
