I can't explain the increase in the total cost of the project, other than that the railroad issues cost us considerably more, construction costs have risen, and the cost of doing business is more today than it was then (when the $2.7 million estimate was developed).

No doubt these numbers will be taken by the market as a clear sign of a softening housing market and, by implication, an indication that higher interest rates are biting. We are much more skeptical: housing starts lag home sales, which have been depressed in recent months more by lack of inventory than by higher interest rates.

As the housing market slows and housing prices stabilize, consumers are less likely to draw on their home equity, suggesting consumer spending will also decline.

The results of this survey confirm that safety in the home has become a major issue for the British public. If you want to sell your home quickly, upgrading your security systems will be a major help.

It's going to be a more complete circle. You'll deal with total housing cost and not just housing development.

In examining the hottest markets for home-price appreciation, we see a rolling boom moving from one metro area to another over time, as well as a spillover effect into nearby areas with lower home prices, ... That is spreading the wealth of housing returns, with a natural ease of appreciation in areas following a period of extraordinary price growth.
