You would think that a game this important ... everybody stood around and watched tonight. We came out and didn't have any intensity whatsoever.

We executed our game plan almost to perfection. It was a nice win for us. But most importantly, we played with intensity for a full game. In recent contests, we've had patches where we lost focus and the opposition took advantage of it. Tonight, we didn't have any lapses in intensity.

We lost our intensity when we started substituting. Until then, we were doing everything right. Then we just sort of lost it. The subs have to know they have to play with the same intensity as the starters and they didn't do that tonight. That's why St. John's got back in the game.

I think (Scott County) came in very motivated, tonight. They were upset about losing their last game at Lexington Catholic and they came into this game with a little emotion. And at the end of that game, when we stood there and watched the snow come down and you looked up there at that scoreboard and the Falcons are on top, I mean our players were in awe. They stood there and took their helmets off and soaked it all up. It was so special. It was just the culmination of an incredible season, both on and off the field, and it was a gift to our players and a gift to our fans. I was just proud to be part of it.

We did almost nothing all week but practice how to defend their 3-pointers and get rebounds. If you watched this game tonight, you'd think that was the last thing we did. I've got to give Elder credit. They hit the open shots; they played defense. We didn't do any of that. It's a simple game, really, and they play it well.

It's been a long struggle to try to get them to play with that intensity all the time. We didn't do it for a full game tonight, but we did it when we had to.

We came out strong at the beginning of the game and played to our strengths, which are rebounding and defense, but we didn't bring the intensity tonight. I can't wait until we play them again.

It is crazy. That's why every game is so important to us. You can't afford to be dropping games because we're not playing hard or we didn't come with the necessary intensity.
