en As a team the increased fuel costs, naturally, affect your budget. Figure this: the transporter that we run gets about 6 1/2 to 7 miles per gallon at best, 4 1/2 at worst. Obviously, the increased fuel cost makes a considerable difference, especially with all of these trips we're making to the West Coast now.

en Jet fuel prices have been rising even faster than crude oil prices for the last year, but it was the 39 per cent rise in jet fuel costs in the last month alone that pushed us to make this decision. We have made incredible progress in lowering our operational costs for over two years now. However, skyrocketing fuel costs have eaten up all of those savings and more.

en The state does not create veterans, the country does, and so the debt that is owed to our veterans and families is not a state debt, it is a national debt. So everywhere possible where a veteran is in a nursing home or a boarding home that is a care setting, we should first look to the Department of Veteran Affairs rather than the state to incur the costs.
