We have so many good players on the field at one time, it wouldn't be right to just single out two, three or four guys. Plus it makes it difficult for any defense to account for everybody.

I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. Our defense has been terrific all season long. We have a lot of talented position players who can flat out get it done in the field. We take a lot of pride in playing good defense because we know that it usually comes down to who makes fewer mistakes.

There's nothing like having talent. I've been on the field a long time, and we've never had better football players sitting in this room, collectively. We have some talented players on defense who can run and make plays. Our draft and free agency were good, and then the maturity of the kids that were already here blended together. I could just see from watching practice against our offense, it was going to be a much better defense.

Their defense is definitely better because of ... He makes plays a lot of corners can't. . . . If you have a shutdown corner, teams also have to go the other way, so you take away a good piece of the field. He makes the linebackers better, he makes the defensive line better.

It's something that I feel makes us a better team not just on the field but also in team chemistry and camaraderie. Even though it's football related, it's time that they wouldn't normally be spending together, so the relationships between the guys are definitely accentuated and deepened.

That was something that I usually like to do periodically, but today was a perfect time to do it. I always like to let guys know where I'm coming from and what I expect. It worked out good, because if we were on the field, we probably wouldn't have had it.

This really isn't that complicated of a scheme. If we're not a good defense, it's not because of him. Ray Rhodes always puts a good product on the field. If we're not a good defense, it's because we as players aren't executing what he calls and we're not getting the job done out there.

It's difficult to say how they're going to fare on the field, but we have a lot of very good football players here. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. Until you see the product on the field, you don't know how they're going to react in a game situation, or how they're going to get along with each other.

Most fields are so narrow. It makes it difficult to string five players across the midfield. Our field and Bentonville's are the only ones that are 65 yards across.

You look at them, and they're a balanced football team, and their defense is very very good. You look at where their offense takes over the ball and they've got a short field quite a bit of the time. Field position is critical, and that comes back to their defense.

Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

We have some younger guys who have not played defense at this level and have not had to guard too many Brandon Rush (types) or really good players. It's going to take time to adjust keeping those guys in front of them.

I think we did. They have good players, a good defense, and home field throughout. Whoever comes in here better be ready, because their defense was awesome, and Matt did enough with Shaun going down to beat us.

He is one of those late developing players. He's been giving a good account of himself on training field and the paddock. If he keeps improving that is something you can't ignore.
