Munson, who plays soccer in the summer for a traveling team, gives us another dimension with her athletic ability. She gets us into our offense and has good instincts (as the point). She's had to guard several outstanding players.

We had pretty much all the ingredients you need. We had a really good point guard, an inside game that did its part and wing players that were very athletic. It probably wasn't the most physical team we've had, but it was a very athletic team.

The toughest for me are the guys who guess a lot. The good one I play against every year is Samari Rolle. He doesn't just play it by the book. He plays with instincts. Those are the tough guys for me. They can get beat a lot, other times they can look unstoppable. They jump routes. They sit on certain things. They can make plays on pure instincts and pure athletic ability.

Andre is unbelievable. He's really more of a scorer, but he's got point-guard instincts. We lost five or six games in a row with him as the shooting guard. Teams were doubling him because he was firing away. When we moved him back to point guard, it turned us on. Now he kind of hides from teams on offense, and we've won four out of five.

They're a very fundamentally sound team and an extremely good shooting team from 3-point range. They spread it out on offense. They have a freshman post player who's outstanding, and their guard play is just unbelievable. We'll see (today) how tough our defense is.

Ben has done a pretty good job for us. He's got great offensive instincts. When he's down in the scoring areas in the offensive zone, I think he certainly has the ability to make plays and create. And I think he's got good instincts on the power play as well. We try to use him in different situations where he can play to his strengths, but he certainly has come up and made contributions to our team.

When I saw him at our summer camp, (Hurd) demonstrated a lot of athletic ability. And he showed good speed for a big man. We'll put some weight on him and where we plays ... I'm not sure yet ... but I know he's going to keep getting bigger and better.

They are an outstanding ball club. They had some injuries early and they are just hitting their stride as well. Doc Sadler has got his team playing really, really well. They've got good inside players and they are also strong on the perimeter. And they have an experienced point guard in Edgar Moreno. They are an outstanding club. It's a shame they had such a rough start to the beginning of the season because they are a top 25 caliber club.

I am excited about the opportunity of coaching Kelly Miller. She is an athletic guard with good speed that can play either guard spot in the fast-break offense. She has really good 3-point range and can score off the dribble as well. Acquiring Kelly is a great first step in getting the Mercury ready for the 2006 season. She has been doing that a lot lately. She plays up and harasses the other team's point guard. That makes the other team do something different with their offense. It spreads them out a little bit more and makes a little bit of a longer pass which we hope to pick off.

She does a good job because she gives us another dimension, another level of athleticism and the ability to play and guard different people.

St. Lawrence Seminary is a very good foe. I watched them play Oakfield on tape and they're an athletic team. They've got as good a point guard as I've seen.
