I wanted to do something new and do something in racing, and racing is in the south. It'll be tough to leave the area I grew up in, though.

Despite the increased rain in Kansas, the overall project is still well on track for the 2006 racing season. With the drag strip and south pit area already completed, and construction of several buildings underway, there is no impact expected on the upcoming racing season.

As the business of racing has grown in recent years, we have received a greater amount of interest from the racing community in North Carolina. Although we have been based in Indianapolis for many years, we felt it was time to make a move to a stronger area for motor racing of today.

It's been great for raising racing awareness. We've had a lot of interest from people who have moved to the area, but didn't know where to go to watch racing.

We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. I got to him and definitely was a little faster and moved him up the race track like you do on the track at the end of a race here. We went down into one and he decided to wreck me instead. Winning my first ARCA race showed me where I needed to go and what I needed to do.

This is my favorite type of racing. My heart lies in open-wheel short track racing. I see a lot of opportunity in this, and it's something I really like doing. It's my favorite racing, bar-none, and it should be a good deal.

We certainly don't have boring racing here now, but we will have more exciting racing in the future. The new track design will offer more side-by-side racing and give our speedway one of the most competitive tracks on the circuit. It's all about the fans.

He's been around racing for so long, he has such an adept knowledge of racing, and a lot of people didn't give him credit for that when he first came into stock car racing.
