There's no way he's supposed to even catch the ball, dribble it, spin and shoot a shot and make a shot. It's just terrible defense on our part. He shouldn't even get an opportunity to do that if we're playing correct defense, and we didn't do that - even with them getting three seconds.

I thought we played terrible. The way we've been playing so well, we shot the ball terribly. And then we forgot to play defense. We left our guys too much, we got lazy, we gambled, we weren't disciplined enough on defense.

We couldn't buy a shot in that second quarter. You have to credit their defense. Their defense is tough. Part of it was them and part of it was that we turned the ball over. The kids got urgent. We got down, and all of a sudden, we thought we'd make up 15 points on one possession, and that's not going to happen.

We had it set up for Daniel. The thing he was supposed to do was make the play, not necessarily the shot. And I thought he made a great read pitching the ball across the court to Dion. I was hoping Dion would take the shot on the catch or off the catch.

Right now, we just don't have anybody playing up to their potential. We are turning the ball over entirely too much, and our shot selection and team defense is just terrible ... not good combinations, to say the least.

I'm more comfortable with my shot. I can dribble. Everybody knows I can dribble. I have to shoot to be a threat, and I've been working after practice on that. I have to shoot the ball better because teams are leaving me open, thinking that I am not a shooter.

It hasn't been since the (All-Star) break where we were able to come out and do what we did to make it 8-0, and it started on the defensive end. We played really good defense in the first half, forcing them to shoot some shots with just three or four seconds left on the shot clock.

It's pretty hard when you only have 3.5 seconds left on the clock and you're trying to dribble the full court and put up a shot. You know, it's not that easy. Our problem was we didn't start out quite like we wanted to. We shouldn't have even let them hang with us.

We set the tone early by coming out and playing solid defense and making them take 30 seconds before they got a shot. On offense, we tried to be patient and get the ball inside. We took good shots.

We played good defense. One of the papers said he made the shot with two seconds remaining, but that's not correct. It went in right as the buzzer sounded.

They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.

We couldn't take care of the ball and we didn't play very good defense at all. We didn't get a hand in their face. We let them shoot the wide-open shot from the outside and they were falling.

I don't know if you do pressure, if it's going to necessarily make them shoot any quicker. I think what becomes important in playing them is your late shot-clock defense.

It wasn't our offense that hurt us, it was our defense. They had guys that could shoot the ball. We were supposed to make them bounce the ball first, and we didn't do that. We came out with a hand up, and that's not good enough.

We were winning by one point with 40 or 50 seconds to go. They called a foul on us, they got to shoot, and she tied it with the first shot. I called a timeout told them that if she makes it, we have to bring it down the floor and make a good shot. It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. She made it, but we turned the ball over.
