If it's always looking like that, that's a good thing. It means I'm doing my job and getting it out there. If we're one block away [from a touchdown] or I'm making one guy miss away, then it's right there. It's only Week 4 and I'm learning as we go.

I've thought about the possibility of not asking those guys to block at all, ... When we try to block, that's when we get the penalties. I've thought about not asking them to block and just letting Dennis making somebody miss on his own.

You miss a week, you go to the back of the bus. He didn't look like how he did when he left. Everybody is ahead of him. I'm ahead of him. You can't miss a week and not be able to run and then try to be where you were. It's not going to happen. The best thing is he's very conscientious. I didn't say unconscious. That involves making sure that you recruit and retain and pay properly the best teachers. I think that means making sure that you devote a very high percentage of your limited resources to actual teacher-to-pupil instruction - rather than on administration and various support services. I think that means you create through the proper administration of discipline an atmosphere that is most conducive to learning.

They had three big plays, the long touchdown, the pass on a quick route and the punt return. We have to be more assignment-oriented and take better angles. But the big thing is we didn't block.

I always keep a good amount of confidence, but you know, it's good to get a touchdown. A touchdown is a touchdown. That's why the game is played, so it's definitely a booster. It felt good.

When it happens over and over, and it's no call, no call - then a call ... The touchdown by Randy Moss looked like a touchdown to me. The call on Langston Walker looked like a good block to me.

I so desperately miss the children on our block. I so desperately miss the wonderful people on the block. I miss the people I don't like on my block!

I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Then you start making excuses. But we played well enough today and did enough good things.

Eight block can work for some kids but not all. Every child should be given an environment to promote their learning. Self-starting kids thrive in eight block but also in seven period. The rest are being set up to fail in eight block.

We're still learning how to win. If there's one thing I've learned to do the last two years, it's to block stuff out.
