en I think in the long run it will prove to be a good thing for the team and myself that we gave it a week off and let it heal. I hate to miss any game, but I think it was the right thing to do.

en If that happens that would be a good thing - good for the game, good for our organization - but it's Week 1; maybe when we get down to Week 20 we can talk about that. We've got a long way to go.

en What we need is all in the head for us. When we are so inclined to really, really get after it as a team, we do. I have been around the game long enough, although I hate to admit it, but sometimes you get bored with all the little things you have to do - especially when you are a veteran team. The thing is that if you really want to be respected and you want to take the step to the next level, you can't do what you did the other night and then come out the next night and not be ready.

en We hurt ourselves with 17 penalties for 90 yards and also gave the ball away five times. Despite that, I thought we gave great effort all night. We will be fine and we will bounce back from this. en You miss a week, you go to the back of the bus. He didn't look like how he did when he left. Everybody is ahead of him. I'm ahead of him. You can't miss a week and not be able to run and then try to be where you were. It's not going to happen. The best thing is he's very conscientious. I didn't say unconscious. But he's about one-third as good as he normally is.

en I think the thing I am most pleased with is how good it is to see an inexperienced team accept the challenge that they did this week. The defense, the tackling in the running game, the turnovers, the sacks that weren't there last week were here. We told them if they just work at the little things, they would come.

en When you first come up, you have to prove you can stay here. Once you've established that, the next thing has to be, 'OK, how can I help the team today?' ... That's how I look at it. I don't play to lose. I want to win every game my name is involved with, and that's any game this team plays.

en I appreciate everyone that went to Tampa, but that is what it should be like every week. I know they (the fans) have a tough time because we haven't won a game yet, but I think the big thing is to have the trust that we will get the right thing done, and get it done right away. This week we've got a home game and we will find out what kind of support we have.

en As long as we've got a team of guys that like being around each other, on and off the court, it's a good thing for us. I mean, we can take this thing to another level.
