en Honestly, I didn't expect (Ecker) to be in the final, but I knew there was a spot for him in this tournament. He needed to have a good tournament this weekend, and he did that.

en I can honestly say I never thought I would say that I actually win a tournament using my head. But honestly this weekend, I think I won this tournament playing smart golf, using course management and staying patient. I mean, somebody is going to have to find out when the last time somebody won a tournament making one birdie on the weekend. That may have never happened before in the history of golf, by the way.

en This is my first trip to a competitive tournament in the United States. So far, it's looking pretty good. I really didn't know what to expect coming in and probably didn't expect to get this far, but it's great to be here. This is the biggest tournament for me outside of the Open Championship.

en We just knew we needed to be more focused on winning this tournament. Tattnall played a good game against us, but we needed to be more focused. We needed to be ready for state tournament basketball.

en Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

en I saw us winning [the tournament title at Thanksgiving] in Rock Island. I saw us making the final four at Pontiac [at Christmas]. I tried to see us making it to the final four at the state tournament. It just didn't happen.

en I really didn't expect to get to the final, but it's a bit of a mess, this tournament. Five down, only one guy to beat now.

en It was a really big win and we needed a big confidence booster going into the next couple of matches and the Big East [Tournament]. We all knew we had the potential [to have a great season] and are hoping to keep it up until the NCAA [Tournament].

en I'm very disappointed I am not able to continue my play in Philadelphia. I was having a really good tournament and I'm sure it will still be an exciting final weekend. I just wish I could be a part of it.

en I told them we don't deserve to be in the tournament unless we have a good weekend. If we go home with two losses, there's no way we should be in that tournament.

en We have a good tournament at Lowell this weekend where we will need to keep our errors down. We're looking forward to having a good tournament because we have a very balanced team this year from top to bottom.

en I was hoping for a few more. But there's not much you can do about that now. Our section has been one of the tougher sections in the south over the last four or five years. You need to have a good tournament, and those five did. That's why they're moving on. Now they have to go and put another good tournament together this weekend.

en I know if that happened to me, I would consider every game my tournament. We will play this weekend like a tournament. We need to win to go on. We still have a pretty good shot at controlling our own destiny.

en Anybody can play with anybody, I think. Our tournament next weekend (Sept. 30 -- which will feature many of those teams) will be a real barn burner. It should be a really good tournament.
