en I really didn't expect to get to the final, but it's a bit of a mess, this tournament. Five down, only one guy to beat now.

en Honestly, I didn't expect (Ecker) to be in the final, but I knew there was a spot for him in this tournament. He needed to have a good tournament this weekend, and he did that.

en I saw us winning [the tournament title at Thanksgiving] in Rock Island. I saw us making the final four at Pontiac [at Christmas]. I tried to see us making it to the final four at the state tournament. It just didn't happen.

en Of course I'm excited. I did not expect it. I was really happy with making the final 10. The final three, I just didn't feel like I would be in the final three.

en They asked me and I couldn't believe it because I didn't want to mess up his final dunk.

en This will leave a sour taste in our mouths because we had the opportunity to win, and it came down to one stop. en It's great to see the other nations doing well, but as far as this tournament goes, we've got to be ready to beat the U.S.. We'll try not to think about it until the final, but it's always there. It has to be. We always play them, and it's a rivalry.

en His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. I think they had had enough with what we did to them. There was a lot of talk that we had to beat BC five times. No, we didn't. We had to beat them once to get to the final four.

en To a lot of people, it didn't matter how many times I beat him. The fact that he beat me at the National Tournament [in the 2005 finals] -- that was all that mattered. That was big for me. I didn't want to end my career without winning a national title. Now that I've done it, it feels good.

en It's my first time in the final of a big tournament. It's important to play my own tennis against Ivan. I don't know if there any special tactics to beat him.

en We held the storm several times. It's a great rivalry between us and Center Grove. I have to say that we felt like the last time in the county tournament, they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. That was a little extra motivation for us.

en Just a fastball in the middle. It was down. I didn't expect him to hit it out, especially to left field. I thought for sure if I was going to get beat, I was going to get beat in, it was away. I'm still amazed that it went out, really.
