en Give the credit to Dave (Odom). I may have jumped on board, but as soon as I got here and had a talk with Dave, one of the first things he mentioned was the history and some of the things he thought we should do; I happened to agree, but it started with him.

en Dave always said, very clearly, that if anything ever happened to him, he wanted the program to go on. So we had to come. This was the landing that Dave did not get to make.

Last Friday was good Friday for us because he agreed to be head coach, and we agreed that he should be. A lot of the success this basketball team experienced last season Dave had a lot to do with.

en I think he really felt it was 'Siskel & Ebert,' and that's the way it always should have been, ... Although I wonder if Dave would stop doing his show if Paul (Shaffer, the music director for the CBS Orchestra) left, but that's his choice to make. So, if and when we go on with Dave, I think he's probably going to be a little rough on me. But, again, that would be pretty cool -- Dave Letterman taking a shot at you.

en I am going to resign. The only way Dave can serve is if I resign, short of confirmation. I would not want to keep Dave from serving on the board.
