en It felt good. We played well. We had a tremendous outing from Beau. Beau made under 70 pitches and had a complete game. We were pretty excited about the [EYL] start, and we're looking forward to Friday [against Granite Hills]. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

en We just crowned three all-Americans today. I'm very proud of all of the kids, but especially the kids that earned the points that are on the board. I'm proud of these kids, and I'm proud of their coaches. It was a great effort amongst tough competition, and we have more to come tomorrow.

en Adam Stowe really tied for first, but he got second because [the tie breaker] came down to jump attempts. Our performances today were encouraging. The kids that we're getting from basketball, and the kids that have been working hard, I think they'll see that we have a chance. As long as we have a chance, we have a great opportunity to win.

en We knew this would be a very physical game. I told my players that we would have to step up and play like men today. Pine Ridge has a great front line. I knew that we wouldn't have a chance if we let them push us around.

en He was one of the hardest-working kids I had back then. You could see that he was a great student. And great students become great teachers. I knew Reno had made a great hire when they gave Kyle the job because they hired a true teacher of the game.

en Everyone's really made a strong effort to get better individually, and they're all learning what it takes to succeed at this level. We've made great strides from the beginning of the season, and I'm hoping these kids will use this year's experience and carry it on over into next year and future years.

en This was one our better performances. We swung the bats well, ran the bases well and made the plays defensively. It was a great effort by the kids today, we really needed this win today.

en The kids knew from the beginning that we had a chance and they were determined. We had people who have been sick and injured and they came out a gave gutsy performance. This was nothing to be ashamed of; what they did today was something to be proud of.

en Beau really made some big plays late. He got inside and got 12 rebounds and he made the key free throws down the stretch.

en He could play up there, and he'll get the chance next year. I knew he had a chance to become a great hitter, and he's made some great strides this year to become a great hitter.

en I look at it as I didn't have the chance that these kids have today. Nobody helped me. What I learned was mostly on my own. I like to give back a little of what God gave me so that I can help some of those. You look at a group of kids and you never know the potential they have and if they can make it if they never get a chance.

en I really didn't see it as overshadowing me, ... He's been in the league so long. He's earned his stripes. I was a young cat coming up, doing the things I had to do to earn my stripes. I made my plays. As the years moved on, I earned my stripes. The fans knew who I was when I stepped on the field. When you play next to Ray, you have to do a lot of things to get noticed.

en I'm really proud of the way we played. Beau Ballard pitched an outstanding game. We scored a few runs early and made them stand up. We made a lot of plays defensively.
