en Kyle's been our top pitcher all year, but we just had a rough start to the season behind him. After the first inning, I knew he was on. The plan was to have him go five, then bring in Jake Bowman, but he was right there. We needed a boost, and he gave it to us.

en I did everything. I gave up two singles, a double, hit a guy, walked a guy and struck out a guy. The only thing I didn't do was give up a home run. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. I did everything. en The home run was the icing on the cake. It gave us even more momentum going into the bottom half of the inning.

en We could have easily rolled over, after their home run in the first inning and said, 'Here we go again,' ... We had some good at-bats in the first inning. When you score three runs in the first inning that is nice. It takes pressure off the offence.

en Jake on the run is awesome. I think he's one of the best at doing that. All I know was Jake was outside the pocket and he threw it to me. I just threw my hands up and gave myself a chance to make the play. It was really gutsy, but we needed that. We needed to score more than three points.
